Horde Help
The Argent Tournament
Aspirant Quests
For Horde players, the Aspirant quests begin in, and return to, the Sunreaver Pavilion [76,24], the Horde tent in the southeast corner of the Argent Tournament Grounds. (See map.)
Aspirant Quests: Preliminary
Pick up all three quests in this group, and do them one after the other.
- Equip a lance, and mount the Stabled Sunreaver Hawkstrider outside the Horde tent. (Alternatively, you can go to the training area and mount the Stabled Sunreaver Hawkstrider there. It's on the west side of the area, near Jeran Lockwood.)
- Ride to the training area [72,19] on the northern side of the Argent Tournament Grounds. It's just east of the Aspirants' Ring and due north of the tunnel next to the Horde fp [72,22]. (See map.)
- As you ride to the training area, click the Defend icon or use the 4 key. Repeat three times until you are surrounded by three green shields. Refresh as needed.
Mastery Of The Shield-Breaker
Training quest from
Galathia Brightdawn [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- Talk to Valis Windchaser [73,19] on the eastern edge of the training area, and get his advice.
- Target a Ranged Target.
- Click the Shield-Breaker icon - or use the 2 key - to remove a layer of the target's Defend (its shield).
- Repeat as fast as your cooldown allows to remove the target's shields, render it vulnerable, and hit the vulnerable target twice.
- When you have completed all three Mastery quests, return to the Sunreaver Pavilion to turn them in.
Mastery Of The Charge
Training quest from Amariel Sunsworn [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- Talk to Rugan Steelbelly [72,18] on the northern edge of the training area, and get his advice.
- Target a Charge Target.
- Click the Shield-Breaker icon - or use the 2 key - to remove the target's Defend (its shield) and render it vulnerable. (Because the target's Defend regenerates, you may have to repeat this.)
- Click the Charge icon - or use the 3 key - to charge the vulnerable target.
- Repeat steps 2-4 until you have received credit for charging two vulnerable Charge Targets.
- When you have completed all three Mastery quests, return to the Sunreaver Pavilion to turn them in.
Mastery Of Melee
Training quest from
Magister Edien Sunhollow [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- Talk to Jeran Lockwood [72,18] on the west side of the training area, and get his advice.
- Target a Melee Target.
- Click the
Thrust icon - or use the 1 key - to hit the target.
- Note that the Melee Target whacks *you* in return.
- Refresh your Defend to restore your shields and minimize the damage the target is doing to you.
- Repeat steps 3-4 until you have hit the target five times.
- When you have completed all three Mastery quests, return to the Sunreaver Pavilion to turn them in.
- Completing all three Mastery quests unlocks the Aspirant daily quests.
Aspirant Quests: Daily Quests
Available after you have completed all three Mastery quests:
Any or all of these quests can be done every day - as long as you are an Aspirant.
Learning the Reins
Training quest from Galathia Brightdawn [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
This is basically a condensed version of the three
Mastery quests you just did - minus the conversation.
- Equip a lance; mount the Stabled Sunreaver Hawkstrider outside the Horde tent; and ride to the training area [72,19] on the northern side of the Argent Tournament Grounds. (Or go to the training area and mount the Hawkstrider there.)
- Remember to click the Defend icon or the 4 key repeatedly until you are surrounded by three green shields. Refresh as needed.
- Target a Ranged Target.
- Use Shield-Breaker (the 2 key) repeatedly to remove the target's Defend (its shield), render it vulnerable, and hit the vulnerable target twice.
- Target a Charge Target.
- Use Shield-Breaker to remove the target's shield, and then Charge (the 3 key) the vulnerable target.
- Repeat until you have received credit for charging two vulnerable Charge Targets.
- Target a Melee Target.
- Use Thrust (the 1 key) repeatedly to hit the target five times.
- Between thrusts, remember to refresh Defend to restore your shields and minimize the damage the target is doing to you.
- When you have dealt with all three sorts of targets, return to Galathia Brightdawn in the Sunreaver Pavilion to turn in the quest.
Training in the Field
Killing quest from Amariel Sunsworn [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion to kill 8 Scourge almost anywhere in Icecrown.
Rewards: 250 reputation with
The Sunreavers, 22050 experience (or 13g23s at level 80), 5g80s,
Aspirant's Seal.
- Do this quest with Blood of the Chosen (daily quest from Warbring Davos Rioht on the airship Ogrim's Hammer), Leave Our Mark (daily quest from Baron Silver at the Shadow Vault), or Assault by Ground (daily quest from Kor'kron Squad Leader at the foot of the mountains on the northern edge of Ymirheim).
- If you do this quest by itself, the easiest locations are Sindragosa's Fall [73,40] (somewhat south of the Argent Tournament Grounds) or Scourgeholm [77,64] (farther south, but northwest of the Argent Vanguard). (See map.)
Daily Sword Quest
Retrieval quest from
Magister Edien Sunhollow [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
Each day, at random, one of the following three quests will be offered.
Rewards: 250 reputation with The Sunreavers, 22050 experience (or 13g23s at level 80), 5g80s, two Aspirant's Seals.
A Blade Fit for a Champion
Retrieval quest to Ashwood Lake in Grizzly Hills.- Go to the western shore of Ashwood Lake [61,52] in Grizzly Hills, southeast of Grizzlemaw and just southwest of Camp Oneqwah. (See map.)
- Target a frog.
- Apply (use) the provided Warts-B-Gone Lip Balm.
- Kiss (emote: "/kiss") the frog.
- Repeat steps 2-4 until one of the frogs turns into a princess: the
Maiden of Ashwood Lake.
- If someone else on the quest causes the Maiden to appear, skip the previous steps and go directly to the next one.
- Talk to the Maiden, and choose the only dialogue option available. (You must do this to get the quest sword.)
- Take the sword she gives you, Ashwood Brand, back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
A Worthy Weapon
Retrieval quest to Drak'Mar Lake in northeastern Dragonblight.- Go to the Decrepit Flow, at the base of the Ironwall Dam, in the northwest edge of Crystalsong Forest. (See map.)
- Gather 4 Winter Hyacinths.
- The number is not specified in the quest text, but four are required.
- Herbalism is not required to collect the flowers.
- Fly to Drak'Mar Lake in the extreme northeastern corner of Dragonblight, and dismount in the center of the circle of floating lamps. (See map.)
- Use (right-click) your stack of winter hyacinths to summon the Maiden of Drak'Mar.
- After she speaks, the Blade of Drak'Mar will appear in front of her. Pick it up! (It will not automatically appear in your bag.)
- If someone else on the quest summons the Maiden and the quest blade is present, skip the previous step and simply loot the sword. (This has no effect on the other quester.)
- Take the sword back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
The Edge of Winter
Retrieval quest to Winter's Breath Lake in Howling Fjord.- Go to a high platform on the southern edge of Crystalsong Forest just east of the passage to Dragonblight. (See map.)
- Kill Lord Everblaze [54,74], and loot the Everburning Ember from his corpse.
- Fly to Winter's Breath Lake in northern Howling Fjord, southwest of Camp Winterhoof, and land on the ice floe in the center of the lake. (See map.)
- Target the Maiden of Winter's Breath Lake [42,19] in the block of ice, and use the Everburning Ember to free her.
- Take the sword she gives you, Winter's Edge, back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
Aspirant Quests: Final Quests
From Magister Edien Sunhollow [76,24] in the Sunreaver Pavilion:
Up to the Challenge

Rewards: 10 reputation with The Sunreavers, 2200 experience (or 1g32s at level 80), 74s.- You can pick up this quest as soon as you become an Aspirant, but there seems no advantage to doing so until you have enough seals to complete it.
- Conversely, complete this quest as soon as you have 15 seals.
- Leftover or "extra" Aspirant's Seals serve no function, are not reusable, and can be tossed.
The Aspirant's Challenge
Jousting quest to the Aspirants' Ring.- Equip a lance, and mount the Sunreaver hawkstrider outside the Horde tent.
- Ride to the Aspirants' Ring on the northern side of the Argent Tournament Grounds (in roughly the same area as the Aspirant training quests).
- Speak to Squire David [71,19] on the north side of the ring, between the two banners.
- Defeat the (summoned) Argent Valiant (another NPC) in a joust.
- Return to Magister Edien Sunhollow.
