Completing any of these quests makes you a Valiant of your race's faction and gives you access to Valiant daily quests. (These replace the Aspirant dailies, which are now barred to you.)
Becoming a Valiant Again
Becoming a Champion makes available ("unlocks") any of the following quests except for those factions for which you have already been a Valiant:

- 1g32s (at level 80)
Completing any of these quests makes you a Valiant of another faction and gives you renewed access to Valiant daily quests. (The quests are the same as the Valiant dailies you have done before, except that the questgivers are different, and the reputation gains are for the new faction.)
Valiant Quests: Dailies
In a classic example of Blizzard's left hand not knowing what its right hand is doing, Valiant dailies theoretically require a character level of only 78. Currently, however, you cannot *become* a valiant (and thus get any of the quests) until you are level 80.
For Horde players, Valiant daily quests begin in, and return to, the Sunreaver Pavilion [76,24], the Horde tent in the southeast corner of the Argent Tournament Grounds. (See map.) There are five versions of each daily - one for each faction - but only one version is available at a time. Each version is identical except for the questgiver and the faction reputation reward. Any or all of the four available daily quests can be done every day.
The Grand Melee
Jousting quest (example) to defeat any three Valiant NPCs at the Horde Valiants' Ring [75,26] using your skills in mounted combat.
- Equip a lance; outside the Horde tent (Sunreaver Pavilion), mount any available stabled mount; and ride a few yards west to the Horde Valiants' Ring.
- Remember to click the Defend icon or the 4 key repeatedly until you are surrounded by three green shields. Refresh as needed.
- Approach and target any of the Valiant NPCs waiting on the edge of the ring.
- Right-click to talk to them, and choose the only available option to challenge them and start your joust.
- Use any combination of Thrust (the 1 key), Shield-Breaker (the 2 key), and Charge (the 3 key) to batter your opponent until it surrenders.
- Refresh Mount to restore your mount (and you, effectively) to full health before challenging another NPC.
- Repeat steps 2-6 to defeat two other NPCs.
- With the easing of restrictions in patch 3.2, it is now feasible to fight more than one opponent from the same faction. However, once you defeat any NPC, you must wait at least five minutes before challenging another - Champion or Valiant - of that faction.
- When you have defeated three Valiants and collected three Marks of the Valiant, return to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- For further details, advice, and tactics, see Jousting.
- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 22050 experience (below level 80)
- 7g40s (13g23s at level 80)
- Valiant's Seal
A Valiant's Field Training
Quest
(example) to kill 10 Converted Heroes southwest of the Valley of Fallen Heroes. (See
map.)
- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 22050 experience (below level 80)
- 7g40s (13g23s at level 80)
- Valiant's Seal
- This quest was changed in Patch 3.2.
- This quest can no longer be combined with Taking Battle to the Enemy (a Champion daily), Blood of the Chosen (a daily quest from Warbring Davos Rioht on the airship Ogrim's Hammer), or Leave Our Mark (a daily quest from Baron Silver at the Shadow Vault) for double or triple credit. Their objectives are now different and incompatible. (You can still do them all, but they must be done separately.)
- Converted Heroes are fairly easy to kill but have a cluster of obnoxious abilities, including an immunity to standard forms of crowd control (e.g., Frost Nova or Roots). If you are a caster, don't aggro a whole group of them.
- Converted Heroes tend to travel in packs but can - and should - be pulled separately if you're soloing.
At the Enemy's Gates
Killing quest
(example) to the Court of Bones in southern Icecrown.
- Go to the camp [49,71] in the Court of Bones, just south of Corp'rethar, the Horror Gate. On the Icecrown map, it's at the bottom of the "E" in "CORP'RETHAR". (See map.)
- Dismount, equip a lance, and mount a Stabled Campaign Warhorse.
- Use Defend until you are protected by three green shields, and then go hunting.
- Boneguard Lieutenants, Boneguard Commanders, and Boneguard Footmen are clustered south [51,78] on the cobblestone path (the southerly gray-brown path on the map), just north of a large staircase [51,79 - 52,83].
- Boneguard Scouts are scattered all over the Court of Bones. You can scarcely avoid them.
- Using the standard mounted-combat skills, kill your quota of targets:
- Boneguard Lieutenant x 3
- Boneguard Scout x10
- Boneguard Footman x15.
- Return to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 22050 experience (below level 80)
- 7g40s (13g23s at level 80)
- Valiant's Seal
- If you are already a champion of another faction, do this quest with the Champion version, Battle Before the Citadel.
- If you have not done this quest before, bring a friend or two! At least until you are quite good at jousting, this is difficult to solo without dying.
- Phase warning: The Court of Bones is a "phased" area. Even people who are in your group will not be able to help you with mounted combat there unless they are on one of the two relevant quests. Otherwise, they won't even be able to see the camp, your foes, or you. You will see their dots on your minimap - but not them. (It's odd and more than a little disconcerting.)
- For further details, advice, and tactics, see Combat in the Court of Bones.
Daily Sword Quest
Each day, at random, one of the following three retrieval quests will be offered. Except for the questgiver and the rewards, all are identical to their Aspirant counterparts.
- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 22050 experience (below level 80)
- 7g40s (13g23s at level 80)
- Two Valiant's Seals
A Blade Fit for a Champion
Retrieval quest (example) to Ashwood Lake in Grizzly Hills.- Go to the western shore of Ashwood Lake [61,52] in Grizzly Hills, southeast of Grizzlemaw and just southwest of Camp Oneqwah. (See map.)
- Target a frog.
- Apply (use) the provided Warts-B-Gone Lip Balm.
- Kiss (emote: "/kiss") the frog.
- Repeat steps 2-4 until one of the frogs turns into a princess: the
Maiden of Ashwood Lake.
- If someone else on the quest causes the Maiden to appear, skip the previous steps and go directly to the next one.
- Talk to the Maiden, and choose the only dialogue option available. (You must do this to get the quest sword.)
- Take the sword she gives you, Ashwood Brand, back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
A Worthy Weapon
Retrieval quest (example) to Drak'Mar Lake in northeastern Dragonblight.- Go to the Decrepit Flow, at the base of the Ironwall Dam, in the northwest edge of Crystalsong Forest. (See map.)
- Gather 4 Winter Hyacinths.
- The number is not specified in the quest text, but four are required.
- Herbalism is not required to collect the flowers.
- Fly to Drak'Mar Lake in the extreme northeastern corner of Dragonblight, and dismount in the center of the circle of floating lamps. (See map.)
- Use (right-click) your stack of winter hyacinths to summon the Maiden of Drak'Mar.
- After she speaks, the Blade of Drak/Mar will appear in front of her. Pick it up! (It will not automatically appear in your bag.)
- If someone else on the quest summons the Maiden and the quest blade is present, skip the previous step and simply loot the sword. (This has no effect on the other quester.)
- Take the sword back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
The Edge of Winter
Retrieval quest (example) to Winter's Breath Lake in Howling Fjord.- Go to a high platform on the southern edge of Crystalsong Forest just east of the passage to Dragonblight. (See map.)
- Kill Lord Everblaze [54,74], and loot the Everburning Ember from his corpse.
- Fly to Winter's Breath Lake in northern Howling Fjord, southwest of Camp Winterhoof, and land on the ice floe in the center of the lake. (See map.)
- Target the Maiden of Winter's Breath Lake [42,19] in the block of ice, and use the Everburning Ember to free her.
- Take the sword she gives you, Winter's Edge, back to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
Valiant Quests: Final Quests
For Horde players, these quests also begin in, and return to, the Sunreaver Pavilion [76,24], the Horde tent in the southeast corner of the Argent Tournament Grounds. (See map.) There are again five versions of each quest - one for each faction - but only one version is available at a time. Each version is identical except for the questgiver and the faction reputation reward.
The Valiant's Charge
Rewards:
Collection quest (example) for 25 Valiant's Seals acquired by doing the daily quests above.- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 13g23s (at level 80)
- Fairly obviously, this is the Valiant equivalent of the Aspirant quest, Up to the Challenge.
- You can pick up this quest as soon as you become a Valiant, but there seems no advantage to doing so until you have enough seals to complete it.
- Conversely, complete this quest as soon as you have 25 seals.
- Until you become Champion of all five city factions, leftover or "extra" Valiant's Seals can be saved and used with your next Valiant faction.
The Valiant's Challenge
Jousting quest (example) to the Argent Valiants' Ring.- Equip a lance, and mount any available stabled mount outside the Horde tent.
- Ride to the Argent Valiants' Ring [69,20] on the far west side of the Argent Tournament Grounds, just north of the Argent Pavilion. (See map.)
- Speak to Squire Danny [68,20] on the west side of the ring, between the two banners.
- Defeat the (summoned) Argent Champion (another NPC) in a joust. (For detailed instructions, see Jousting.)
- Return to the questgiver in the Sunreaver Pavilion.
- 250 reputation with The Sunreavers
- 250 reputation with the appropriate city faction
- 13g23s (at level 80)
Becoming Champion
Completing any version of The Valiant's Challenge makes you a champion of the city faction for which you have been doing Valiant daily quests and gives you a corresponding achievement:
- Champion of Orgrimmar or
- Champion of Sen'jin or
- Champion of Silvermoon City or
- Champion of the Undercity or
- Champion of Thunder Bluff.
If you are exalted with the appropriate faction, you will get a second achievement:
- Exalted Champion of Orgrimmar or
- Exalted Champion of Sen'jin or
- Exalted Champion of Silvermoon City or
- Exalted Champion of the Undercity or
- Exalted Champion of Thunder Bluff.
- Completing this quest unlocks the quest, The Black Knight's Fall.
- Completing this quest allows you to become a Valiant of a different city faction. You must do so to continue doing Valiant dailies, and it will not prevent you from doing Champion dailies.)
- To get access to Champion daily quests, you must complete one version (only) of the quest, A Champion Rises.
